Sunday Style - Pink

Hello and welcome to another edition of Sunday Style with the JET Team. Pink - sweet or sassy? You choose! Today’s outfits feature pink - one sweet and one sassy.

In the sweet category we start with a pale pink summer dress from garderob. Even though this is a minidress, details like the petal skirt keep it looking elegant. Add CapitalCityCraftsrose quartz flower necklace and LauraStamperDesignsporcelain bracelet made with broken vintage dishes. These flower themed jewelry items keep this look young.

Sunday Style - Fourth of July Fashion

Our hugely popular Sunday Style feature is back today after a short break! Yesterday was the Fourth of July, Independence Day, as well as my sister’s and brother-in-law’s anniversary, and barbeques and casual outdoor parties have been taking place all across the United States. So this week I have put together two very stylish outfits that are perfect for the weekend's celebrations!

The first look is a gentle version of Americana. First we have stars in the form of iheartfink’s knit shirt (1) with a hand silkscreened starburst pattern in gold. The gold buttons on the shorts (2) from ROSIEretroclothing reference back to the color of the starburst pattern, and also give the shorts the style of Navy uniform trouser. Add Foret’s Boho star earrings (3) with their golden amber.

A handmade clutch (4) from sewgoodandtrendy will hold your essentials without weighing you down. Add some more blues to the outfit with a teal stretch bracelet (5) from cooljewelrydesign and a fluorite pendant (6) from Poshracrafts, which both also feature silver star details.

Mix in a little more gold with fun lace up sandals (7) from GreekChicHandmades. Sport a pair of funky skateboard sunglasses (8) from GoWoodSunglasses, and slick on a light layer of golden shine to your lips with soapopotamus’s sweet golden honey lip butter (9), and you are ready for a day of fun!

My second look is a much more traditional Fourth of July outfit. I describe it as traditional, but it’s really louder Americana - bright red and blue, with stars and sequins, and American flag prints. Start with ICaughtTheSun’s fun 4th of July tank (1) with white stars on a blue background and a bright big shiny sequined red star on the chest. Add white jeans (2) with handpainted red and blue glitter outlined stars from RetOriginals.

Now is the time to adorn yourself with bold red, white, and blue jewelry from the JET Team! Start with cserpent’s pearl and crystal dangle earrings (3). Then pop on a red, white and blue necklace (4) from DesignsbyCher, and finish with a patriotic kumihimo bracelet (5) from NancysCrystalFantasy.

A stars and stripes manicure (6) from SoGloss would look so cute with this outfit! Throw a blanket into a fun RowdyRiver tote (7) and head off to the fireworks. Remember to bring something to keep the chill off your shoulders - like the Americana kimono (8) from AnytimeScarf - or carry something in LiquidCourage’s American flag flask (9) to keep you warm!

Have a fabulous weekend, see you all next week!

Sunday Style - Fresh Mint

In today's edition of Sunday Style with the JET Team I’ve put together a couple of outfits in a fresh mint green color.

We start with an adorable vintage inspired dress (1) from LaVieEnSwing. There are lots of cute details in this 1940’s style dress, like the mandarin collar tied with a bow and the pockets on the skirt. Add some pinup style with back seamed fishnet stockings (2) from Awesomeseamstress.

The faceted mint bracelet (4) from DesignsbyCher lends just the right amount of additional glamor. A pair of ankle strap sandals (5) from LieblingShoes adds a little height. This dress cries out for a cigarette case (6) from colorsbyliza. Since we're no longer in the forties, you can carry your ID or credit cards - and maybe a lipstick - in yours!

Now we travel forwards in time to a mint jumpsuit (7) from KSclothing. I love the drape of this jumpsuit, relaxed but elegant. This would be a great dress alternative for a wedding. If you want the illusion of longer legs, wear heels with this outfit. But, if you want to be able to have fun and dance all night, choose some cute flat shoes (8) like the ones from QuieroJune!

Special jewelry will dress up this outfit. I love the moonstone, pearl, and chalcedony bracelet (9) from seemomster. Add a cascade of pearls in the form of UrbanPearlStudio’s 5-strand 35 inch long stunner of a necklace (10). Reference the moonstones from the bracelet and the black of the necklace clasp with CapitalCityCraftsmoonstone earrings (11). The finishing touch is a polka dot foldover clutch (12) from NataBurgos.

Until next time!

Sunday Style - Little White Dress

Hello and welcome to another edition of Sunday Style with the JET Team! Tomorrow is Memorial Day in the USA, but this long weekend is also the unofficial start of summer! There used to be a fashion rule that you couldn’t wear white until after Memorial Day. That rule has been broken for quite a while now, but white still feels right for summer.

LWDs (little white dresses) are a fresh summer alternative to the LBDs (little black dresses) that have been popular for years. One of the reasons women reach again and again for their LBD is the versatility. And just like a LBD, you can accessories a LWD for a variety of occasions and to reflect a variety of moods.

Since it is now summer, let us start with a beachy look - something you could wear walking on the boardwalk, or for a casual dinner at a beachside restaurant. A breezy bohemian tunic dress (1) from AUROBELLE is a great start. The details of pin tucks, hand embroidery, and ruffled edges make this easy to wear dress special. Greek strappy sandals (2) from Leatherhood and a beautiful fringe handbag (3) from RusticMoon13 add more tan leather and more of that boho spirit.

Add bohemian accessories for a breezy summer outfit. An amazing long necklace (4) from DeetabyDesign pairs well with Foret’s lovely dragonfly stick earrings (5) and littlebrownbird’s sweet leather bracelet (6). For carefree beach waves in your hair try Sea + Salt Hair Mist (7) from HerbsandOilsBath. Or if it’s windy, or too sunny at the shore, top your look with a fun and practical hat (8) from EllaGajewskaHATS. Add cserpent’s bronzite and tiger’s eye gemstone anklet (9) to finish the beach chic look.

Our second LWD outfit is a little dressier. Lace dresses are trendy, but a LWD in lace can scream “wedding dress!” A beautiful alternative to lace is eyelet, which gives the same airy feel but says “retro summertime fun dress!” Start with a fit and flare peplum dress (10) from Twelve26Plus in the aforementioned eyelet. Add some sparkle and more vintage feel with a rhinestone bobby pin (11) from BlancheB.

Another way to avoid looking like you are going to elope at lunch break is to add color accessories to your LWD. I picked purple just because it’s my favorite color.  (12) have the perfect purple twinkle. Add some funkiness with a kumihimo spiked bracelet (13) from NancysCrystalFantasy, and a bold statement ring (14) from ArtJewelerNYC.

Define your waist with a smart skinny belt (15) from ABOVETHEFRAYCO, and carry an unusual clutch bag (16) with a dandelion illustration from redrubyrose. Leather wedges with strappy ankles (17) from BaliELF are cute but wearable. A good choice for your manicure to complete this dressy outfit would be Pastel Dreams above by GirlosityCosmetics.

Enjoy your weekend, and see you all next week!

Sunday Style - Scuba Blue

This week on Sunday Style with the JET Team, we will explore warm weather looks featuring a wonderful summer color, Scuba Blue. I imagine this shade of blue as the perfect Caribbean water, next to a white sand beach. It’s vibrant, and cool!

An asymmetric hem maxi dress starts our first look. Pixiwitch’s pieced organic cotton bamboo and lycra blend summer dress (1) features both scuba blue and a darker teal blue. To this free spirited dress add the free spirited horse design bracelet (2) from EarthEnergyGemstones. BeadzNBling's beachy turquoise necklace (3) features beautiful shades of blue and a trio of teardrop focal beads, and looks great with the perfect ocean blue color of the apatite earrings (4) from JemsbyJBandCompany.

It can get rather chilly at night by the ocean, so throw on a little mesh shrug (5) from Aimarro. Carry a beautiful leather bag (6) by styleSOoriginal in this exotic scuba blue color. With color this strong, simply add a pair of barely there sandals (7) from Calpas.

Our second look today is available in a full range of sizes. Start with a flattering pleated waist top (8) from TopsyCurvyDesigns. The black skirt (9) from aconversationpiece has a flirty shape and a trendy obi style tie waist. The real Queens Anne Lace flower pendant (10) from DebrasDivineDesigns excellently combines scuba blue with black, and coordinates well with the earrings (11) by TraceDesigns.

Some scuba blue beads (12) from RoughMagicals would look stunning on your wrist - most members of the JET Team will be happy to make them into a bracelet for you! Turquoise is a great gemstone that is also found in the scuba blue color, like this lovely ring (13) from LoveStoneArts. Finally, carry a pretty wristlet (14) from Loddelina, with dandelion embroidered flowers to reference back to the pendant, and add some sexy booties (15) from myShoemaker to finish this terrific look for summer.

See you next week!

Sunday Style - Tangerine Dream

Tangerine is this season’s shade of orange. Just as tangerines are a little sweeter than oranges, this color is a little sweeter too - it’s a bit softer than the neon orange shades of the last couple of years, but still energetic and fun.

Our first outfit is inspired by a beautiful retro wrap dress (1) from DesireeSalas. I love the tangerine flower print and the adjustable tie belt that gives a perfect fit at the waist. Plus, it has a handy pocket that the designer calls a lipstick pocket. We need a tangerine tinted lipstick to put in the pocket. JustPureMineralsShop offers a vegan formula (2) in a pretty color called Samba.

Now, time for some gorgeous jewelry! Add an amazing Kumihimo bracelet (3) made of fire opal Czech crystal from NancysCrystalFantasy. Slide on to your finger laurastamperdesigns's statement ring (4) and add SatinDollCo’s dangle earrings (5) consisting of tangerine wood beads and blue quartz nuggets. Incorporate more of the blue accent color in the form of vintage blue suede pumps (6) with a demure kitten heel from SundryBox. Finish off this look with a darling purse (7) from AnnaTreurniet. I dare you to not smile at the sight of this cute leather purse, with its heart shape appliqué that morphs into handles!

Tangerine is a great color for warmer weather, and my second outfit is perfect for wearing when the heat starts creeping up on the thermometer. We start with a beautiful hand dyed halter top (8) by tantricweave. It has a beautiful lace neckline that insets into the main body of the shirt as well as a stylish tiered waist. The white yoga pants (9) from bthreadsforwomen keep the look casual but add interest with the gathered hem detail.

Add a fun pair of Aztec inspired earrings (10) from BlackDragonflies3 and the beautiful carnelian bracelet (11) from seemomster, then slip into a pair of comfy looking wedges (12) featuring brilliant ethnic Hmong embroidery by SiameseDreamDesign. Since it’s going to be sunny out there, shade your eyes with some stylish vintage sunglasses (13) from CrystalBallVintage. Finally, to complete the look, pop all the stuff you need in a beautiful floral tote (14) from HandsFullDesigns. Perfect!

I hope you have enjoyed this Sunday Style with the JET Team! Join me again next week for another fabulous and stylish selection of co-ordinated outfits...

Sunday Style - Amish Quilts

Recently I took a trip with my sister into Amish country in Ohio. We drove by a cute Amish schoolhouse, where all the traditionally clothed children were outside playing baseball. While waiting for their turn to bat, the girls were all sitting on a long bench. Each was wearing a brightly colored long skirt that was being blown by the wind. The skirts were plain but beautiful in color - turquoise, bright green, purple, bright blue, pink.

Now, the Amish may not be your first thought for a modern fashion muse, but I was inspired by all these fresh colors - as well as the geometric shapes found in traditional Amish quilts. I found several examples of Amish and Amish-style quilts on Etsy, which will help illustrate my vision. The examples below, clockwise from top left, are from HouseofdeVeer, QuiltsByAmishSpirit, QuilteryOnline, and CottonLinenMoon

The Amish use a lot of blue in their quilts, so my first outfit features blue. The patchwork of the quilts is similar to the geometric piecing in this lovely peplum top (1) by VespertineCA, which also has a matching pencil skirt available. Add laurastamperdesigns' fun enamel earrings (2), cooljewelrydesign’s gorgeous lapis stretch bracelet (3), and EmmalynnJewellery’s modern square ring (4). All have geometric elements that will complement the outfit well. Put on a pair of amazing leather clogs (5) from LieblingShoes. The foldable clutch (6) by larakazis is versatile because it can be folded different ways to form different sizes of bags! Origami in action!

My next outfit features a marvelously graphic short summer dress (7) from TulipeStudio. Although not pieced like a quilt, the print looks as though it is - with its geometric shapes in shades of pink. For jewelry we will add the golden triangles found in the necklace (8) from venusvelvet, and the dangle earrings (9) from ELEVEN13. Since these jewelry pieces also feature silver, we will add LittleAppleNY’s mixed metal bracelets set (10).

Do we need more golden triangles? Of course we do if it’s in the form of a luxe crossbody bag (11) from PurJusShop! Show off your legs with some fun gladiator sandals (12) from TheSquareMoon. Maybe even paint those toes in an intense lime green nail polish (13) by BadBitchPolish that will really pick up on the accent color in the dress.

See you next week!

Sunday Style - Gingham

In this edition of Sunday Style with the JET Team we will look at a very versatile pattern for spring and summer - gingham!

When I think of "The Wizard of Oz", I don’t just picture the creepy flying monkeys of my nightmares, but also Dorothy’s iconic light blue gingham dress. Because of this association, gingham outfits can seem a little too costumey or young for me. However, I’ve searched through Etsy and found some very wearable outfits that feature gingham and won’t have you worrying about the flying monkeys kidnapping you!

Gingham is a ideal for a tomboy look. A camp shirt tied at the waist in a gingham color, paired with a rolled up pair of boyfriend jeans, is a great weekend look. Add a pair of canvas sneakers and some simple handmade jewelry pieces and you are ready to walk the trail at the lake or hang out at your bestie’s barbeque party. It’s easy living wear!

This outfit starts with a sleeveless top (1) from theethicalpetal and vintage Levis (2) from PastReferenceUS. Add a cute double wrap bracelet (3) from malves1009 and an industrial bike chain pendant (4) from WanderingJeweler.

If you like to fidget with your rings, you will love this set of stack rings (5) from LoveStoneArts with a spinner ring. To keep you on your feet, treat them well in a pair of canvas shoes. How about a pair with a cute little dog (6) handpainted on them by ByGThatsMe? Adorable! Add a big red gingham tote (7) by marketbags to stow all your stuff for a busy day.

Gingham can be seen as the sweet version of plaid, but add some lace to it, and it seems very modern. This amazing open back dress (8) of black gingham and lace from chrystalshop is a great place to start. I decided to add peridot jewelry because I was feeling the spring green color. This accent color comes in the form of shoulder duster earrings (9) from EarthEnergyWeddings, SilverSmack's peridot silver bypass ring (10), and a peridot stone and druzy necklace (11) from JemsbyJBandCompany.

Also add the shade of green with a cute clutch (12) from aylla. Finish the outfit with 2 inch patent leather wedges with gingham bows (13) from QuieroJune. Add a little of BonefeathersPeridot natural perfume (14) to your pulse points for a great evening out!

See you next week!

Sunday Style - Four Seasons of Marsala, Part 2

Welcome back to Sunday Style with the JET Team, and to Part 2 of my Four Seasons of Marsala! Marsala is the color of the year for 2015, and last week we looked at outfits for Spring and Fall in this beautiful color. This week I have selected some gorgeous outfits for Summer and Winter...

For Summer we will go to the beach. Ruffles are trendy for swimsuits, so we have LoveLucyBea’s long ruffle bikini (1), and a little batik sarong (2) from PuaWear to cover up with. Add some golden sparkle with an anklet (3) from YourDailyJewels, and AdroitJewelers’ gold filled hoop earrings (4).

A trio of silver, brass and copper bangle bracelets (5) from BrookeJewelry amps up the shine. Make sure your toes beach ready with a coat or two of Moonlit Stroll (6) from MintNailPolish. If you’re going to be out in the sun, you’ll need a floppy hat to keep the aging rays off of your face. A wide brim sun hat (7) from frecklescalifornia will do it stylishly.

Don’t forget the sunscreen! BuddingHerbals offers an all natural SPF 50+ one (8). Stylishly save your eyes with a pair of faux pearl embellished sunglasses (9) from PinksAndMinks, and carry it with your Kindle, towel, and all your essentials for the day in a large canvas beach bag (10) from theAtlanticOcean.

For Winter, you will need to cover your toes so try a pair of knee high boots (11) from ADIKILAV. DianaNagorna offers an incredible dress (12) in merino wool and silk chiffon. The texture and subtle color variations are exquisite in the handmade nuno felted fabric.

For warmth and style, add VigilanteLabs’ rust colored coat (13) with statement making collar. Accessorize with a beautiful rutilated quartz and carnelian bracelet (14) from cooljewelrydesign and briolette earrings (15) from EarthEnergyGemstones. Add a final layer of texture with lacey chandelier patterned tights (16) from ActCute2013.

I do hope you've enjoyed our seasonal look at Marsala.
See you next week!
